FitApp — Gym & Macros · Last updated: 11 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FitApp ("FitApp", "we", "us"), operated by Lee Kotton, handles information when you use the FitApp mobile application (the "App"). By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what the App needs to work:
Account information — your email address, username, display name, and (optionally) a profile photo and bio. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from that provider. You can also use the App without an account, in which case your data stays on your device.
Fitness & health data you enter — workouts, sets, weights, body-weight entries, nutrition and food logs, goals, and streaks.
Content you create — posts, workout shares, photos, stories, highlights, comments, and likes.
Social activity — who you follow, and any users you block or report.
Purchase information — your subscription status (Lite, Pro, or Max). Payments are handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
AI feature inputs — when you use the AI Coach or the photo meal scanner, the messages you send and the meal photos you submit are processed to generate a response (see Section 4).
Diagnostic data — if enabled, anonymous crash reports to help us fix problems. This contains no health data.
2. How we use your information
To provide core features — tracking your training, nutrition, and progress.
To sync your data across your devices when you have an account.
To power social features you choose to use (feed, stories, following).
To provide AI coaching and meal scanning when you use those features.
To manage subscriptions and unlock paid features.
To keep the App secure, prevent abuse, and fix bugs.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to track you across other apps or websites for advertising.
3. How your information is stored and shared
Your data is stored securely with our hosting provider and shared only with the service providers that make the App function ("sub-processors"):
Supabase — database, authentication, file storage, and backend hosting.
Apple — Sign in with Apple, App Store, and subscription billing.
Google — Sign in with Google (only if you use it).
RevenueCat — subscription management.
OpenAI — processes AI Coach messages and meal photos to generate responses.
Each provider processes data only to deliver its service. We may also disclose information if required by law.
4. AI features
When you use the AI Coach or photo meal scanner, the text or image you submit is sent to OpenAI to produce a reply or a nutrition estimate. Do not submit information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service. AI responses are estimates and are not medical or professional advice.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and content are removed from our systems. Local-only data (used without an account) can be cleared by resetting the App or deleting it from your device.
6. Your rights and choices
Access & export — you can export your data from the App (Settings → export as JSON or CSV).
Correction — you can edit your profile and entries at any time.
Deletion — you can permanently delete your account and data from within the App (Settings → Danger zone → Delete account).
Manage subscriptions — through your Apple ID in device Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to exercise them.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Children
FitApp is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date.
